IAI LATENT
CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
CHANGES
By: Debbie Benningfield, IAI

At the recent 2005 IAI
Educational Conference the Latent Certification Board approved the
following changes to the Certification exam.
- The time limit to
complete all three phases of the test has been increased from 6.5
hours to 8 hours.
- Previously during the
testing phase, the applicant could take the three different exams
in any order they wanted, however they had to complete one test
and seal it before moving on to another. Now, the applicant does
not have to complete one test before moving on to another
test.
As a
reminder, the Board approved during the 2004 IAI Educational
Conference, the use of a comparator, however the applicant must
provide this equipment.
The comparator must not be able to reproduce, capture or
store any information.
Recertification
requirements have had some significant changes that current
certified examiners should be aware of. These changes give the
certified examiner many options to achieve the 80 hours of training,
within a five year period, required to maintain their certification.
Information outlining these changes will be on the IAI website soon.
